From April 4th to 7th, Varadero will witness the exciting return of Pan-American judo with the Open Pan-American, Cadet - Junior Pan-American Cup, and the Ronaldo Veitia Cup sub 13 - sub 15 events. Athletes from countries such as Cuba, Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Mexico, Poland, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Haiti will compete for coveted medals at the convention center of the Meliá Internacional Varadero Hotel.
Highlighting some key points, the Open Pan-American will be a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, while the Cadet - Junior Pan-American Cup will be decisive in the qualifying process for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion. It is important to note that this latter event represents the first qualifying stage for these games, as well as contributing points to the World Judo Federation's global ranking.
The second edition of the Ronaldo Veitia Cup, in memory of one of the most prominent figures in Cuban and world judo, Professor Ronaldo Veitia, will be a highlight. This cup offers a unique opportunity to witness young athletes take their first steps towards international events.
