Triumphant development of the first Pan American Mini Prix, A milestone in continental judo

In an unprecedented event, the Pan American Judo Confederation is pleased to report the successful development of the first Pan American Mini Prix, organized by the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation. This initiative has been conceived with the aim of providing the youngest with an exceptional experience on the tatami, promoting equal opportunities, inclusion and avoiding early and future desertion in this sports discipline. The event had the participation of

support of hundreds of talented judokas from Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Canada and the United States. Competitors were divided into two age categories, 9-14 years old and 4-8 years old, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere that celebrated continental diversity. We highlight the notable presence of the president of the Pan American Judo Confederation, Carlos Zegarra, who was not only present as a leader, but also actively participated in several combats, proudly carrying his judogi. His participation inspired the young judokas, who relished the chance to face the prominent Pan-American leader and celebrated his eventual "win" with enthusiasm.

Carlos Zegarra, head of the Pan American Judo Confederation, expressed during the event: "The main objective of the Mini Prix is to teach children to compete and to become familiar with surroundings as beautiful as Sports Center 3, which has been prepared for both Pan American Games for the inclusion of boys and girls, providing equal opportunities for all. I hope you enjoy this magnificent Sunday, taking with you your well-deserved medals and that you feel the desire to repeat this experience, motivating yourself to compete again to achieve success."

The Pan American Judo Confederation is proud to have witnessed this unique event, which reaffirms its commitment to the development and promotion of Judo in the Pan American region, especially among the younger generations. We thank the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation for its tireless work and congratulate all the participants for their outstanding performance and unwavering enthusiasm. We will continue working together to foster the values of judo and build a promising future for this noble discipline in our Americas.
